Cello Duets
Haydn, Paganini, Weber

The cello is an instrument belonging to the violin family, which is located in size and register between violas and double basses. Its versatility and great expressiveness allow its players to interpret both rhythmic bases and melodic lines. It also has a particularly wide range of sound, reaching four octaves, and it is considered to be one of the instruments that is closest to the human voice. His presence both in orchestral formations and in the classical string quartet has been complemented by an important soloist repertoire, and for some time now his duo formation has become popular.

In this program, two outstanding cellists from the Reina Sofía School of Music, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt and Jens Peter Maintz, plays a program made up of arrangements and transcriptions of original works by Franz Joseph Haydn; Nicolò Paganini and Carl Maria von Weber.
