Franco Pedemonte: Brahms, Mozart, Chopin

Franco Pedemonte: Brahms, Mozart, Chopin

With a program made up of works by two romantic composers and a classic one, we present Franco Pedemonte, a talented pianist born in Buenos Aires in 1997. Student of Antonio Formaro, Marcelo Balat, José Luis Juri and Bruno Gelber, Pedemonte is an interpreter who promises be one of the talents to keep in mind for years to come. The present recital, offered at the CCK in Buenos Aires, begins with Johannes Brahms' Six Pieces for Piano Op. 118, composed in 1893 and dedicated to Clara Schumann. It is one of the last collections of piano pieces written by the composer, and is practically a suite, with a strong overall identity.

From 1841 is the Ballad in F minor, Op. 52 n ° 4, by Frédéric Chopin. In this case it is the last piece in a series of four, highly appreciated by both pianists and audiences, due not only to its enormous technical and interpretive difficulty, but also due to its great musicality. Although the genre of the ballad refers to a sung poem, in which the lyrical and the epic are mixed, Chopin transferred this spirit to the field of eminently piano music, inspired by a series of poems by his friend Adam Mickiewicz, exiled as him in Paris.

The program is completed with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Rondo for piano in D Major, composed in Vienna in 1786, which takes the place of an intermezzo between the two composers of Romanticism. The playful and elegant piece features Mozart's characteristic skillful writing, inspired by an original theme by Johann Christian Bach.
