Friar Alessandro: The Voice from Assisi

Friar Alessandro: The Voice from Assisi

Friar Alessandro is not only a modest monk living in a community of Franciscan brothers in the hilltop monastery of Assisi, Italy, but he also is a recording artist and a Classic Brit music awards nominee. Alessandro is a charming and spiritual young man with a gentle tenor voice whose musical message of hope, peace and brotherly love is resonating with audiences across Europe and America. For his first major solo television concert recorded in Assisi, the friar is accompanied by the choir of the Basilica of St. Francis and the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia. The repertoire of the 56-minute program is featuring sacred standards like Panis Angelicus, Amazing Grace and Here I Am, Lord or Schubert‘s Ave Maria, Ramírez‘ Kyrie from Missa Creole as well as Bette Middler‘s From a Distance, which blends in wonderfully with Alessandro’s message.
