Vivaldi: Four Seasons / Beethoven: Pastoral Symphony.

The four seasons, which Antonio Vivaldi published in 1725 as his opus 8, are part of a wider cycle of twelve violin concertos entitled "Il cimento dell'armonia e dell'inventione". But these four concerts in particular constitute in themselves a rarity, since they are one of the first and most notable samples of programmatic music in full baroque time. From four sonnets that were supposed to be written by the composer himself, Vivaldi tries to reflect in each of these concerts the respective seasons of the year. Several decades later, in 1808 and already in the times of musical Romanticism, Ludwig van Beethoven completed his Sixth Symphony, the "Pastoral". The subtitle of the work indicates: "Memories of country life". And it is, in effect, another programmatic work, in which Beethoven tries to describe his sensations during a walk in the countryside. With this element in common between both works, Patricia Pouchulu brought them together in the same program, interpreted by the Orchestra of the Association La Bella Música and four notable soloists.
